Proud to Be Country was founded in 2020 - a landmark year for debut releases from queer country music artists.
 

For the last four years, the Proud to Be Country campaign has been lobbying key country music organisations and radio stations in the UK and Europe to challenge the genre's norms and create a space where queer voices can be celebrated. And most importantly, for queer country music artists to be played on the goddamn radio!
 

This campaign is not just a queer country playlist, but an advocacy campaign aiming to bring queer country artists and their stories to the forefront.
 

Proud to Be Country ran as a popular drivetime radio show from 2020 to 2022 on ARC Radio, bringing queer country music artists into the homes and cars of country music fans all around the UK and Europe.
